Woken up at 6:00 am to the sound of alarms going off: from the weather station and phone alerts: TORNADO WARNING.... seek shelter immediately! Looking at the radar, and listening to the live local report, the cell in question was heading straight towards us (they even named the highway we're right off of) and said it was expected to arrive by 6:25.
Note that Mitch was up at 5:30 and had already started his morning prayers (wearing his talit and tefillin). I jumped into clothes and pulled him out of the RV to run to the bathhouse at the end of the road, which is the safest place in the park, being a brick building without windows. So, still in his prayer gear, we ran to the truck and down the road. There was one other woman there, so we needed to don our masks as well (as did she).
Thankfully, the cell did not form a tornado and nothing touched down; just a few minutes of heavy rain.
Ah, the excitement of living in an RV! This is the 4th time in 6 years that we've had to run for shelter due to a tornado warning.
