Yesterday (Shabbat), I was able to make it all the way down to the lake!!! (see previous posts about that challenge). It was awesome to be able to relax with a magazine with the serenity of the water washing against the shore and the beauty of the lake and blue sky (ok, interrupted a few times by the water ski-ers and Skeedo-ers on the lake) but overall, really wonderful. And especially great that I was finally able to walk there, pain free. Only had to stop once because my leg was tired.
Have to mention that we're under an oak tree and for the last 3 weeks have the constant ping, ping, ping of acorns dropping on the roof and on the metal roof of the shed. Reminds me of the time a few years ago when we were under the pecan tree in NC. At least then we could gather the nuts and eat them. The acorns are not edible to humans, at least not without major work to turn them into flour.
